In May, while many were glued to their TV screens watching the blues and maroons battle it out, a group of Sunshine Coast ladies treated themselves to a night out at their mechanic’s workshop.

Yes, they went to the mechanic! And no, the mechanic’s workshop is not a new, trendy nightclub; it’s the place where the Sunshine Coast’s specialist European car master technicians work and play – SVS Autocare.

Jo and Carl Miller, dynamo husband and wife team and owners of SVS Autocare, recognised a need to give the wonderful ladies of the Sunshine Coast some extra special attention and self-care time. With so many women making up their client base, they could see on a day-to-day basis just how busy, committed and selfless the women of the Sunshine Coast are.

Most people know that if you want a vehicle that’s reliable, agile and efficient it’s important you give it the care, attention and fuel it needs. But not everyone considers that this is as true for your car as it is for your body – both vehicles you rely on day to day to get you where you need to go.

So Jo and Carl, together with their friendly team, hosted an entertaining and educational night at their workshop along with some great local businesses in celebration of Ladies with Drive. The workshop showed the ladies how to care for their car and themselves with some helpful tips from some incredible local experts:

  • Deni Sevenoaks, Health Essence Acupuncture
  • Michael Goodwin and his team from Ethica Private Wealth and
  • John Garnder, Nu Skin.

From changing a tyre to boosting the immune system the entertaining education was complemented with laughs, canape’s and champagne with some of the Sunshine Coast’s loveliest ladies.

The 2nd workshop in the Ladies with Drive series was held on 24th June at SVS Autocare, Unit 2, 34-36 Enterprise Street, Kunda Park.

Here’s some of the feedback we received:

“thank you Jo and Carl and your fantastic team at SVS. I was so impressed that the men encouraged me to ask all my silly questions which other ladies wanted to know as well, so I thoroughly enjoyed and learned so much about my car and maintenance – excellent work SVS – cheers Kim p.s. the food and accompaniments were excellent as well!”

“this was a great idea and the topics were interesting and concise. Well done!!”

“you have the best staff – another great effort”

The demonstrations were “really well explained with patience and it was fun with a nice atmosphere”

“extremely helpful demonstrations especially the battery demonstration, the staff very obviously love their work and where they work”

We’re planning another series of similar events, what would you like us to tackle next time? High powered vechiles? Porsche, Mercedes AMG?

Let us know your ideas and we’ll try our best to make it happen!
